As the world turns...so are the "Days of Our Lives"...we have been up to so much lately. Our family has been doing great. The Fourth of July was a fun holiday for our family. On the Wednesday before, our town held a street dance. That girls had a great time there. They danced in the street for awhile. On the Fourth, we went to the parade again this year and after Mike got sunburned at a game of baseball he played with his buddies. We went to a friend's house for a BBQ and watched and played with lots of fireworks. Kelby got a kick out of it all and stayed up until 11:30 that night. Actually, Tegan did too. Neither were afraid of the fireworks at all. The next day we headed out to go camping. We stayed overnight one night for our first camping trip of the season. The girls are great little campers. They were tired and dirty when we got home, but they didn't complain.
There are a bunch of fields around here that you can go and pick your own strawberries and raspberries. So I love taking the girls out to do that. We do that and visit a bunch of parks all summer long. On the days that we stay home, Kelby spends all her time going up and down the slide into the kiddie pool. She often says, "I love this pool. That was so nice that Gigi and Papa sent it to me!" Tegan has even been getting in it since I put her small slide in it too.
During the last two weeks I have been working on putting some speaking topics together for a class that I took on Thursday. I had to speak and get critiqued on it. It was a half hour message on "Taking Your Burdens to the Lord." It was difficult, but once I started working on it, it came together. I was pretty nervous giving it too. I got a lot of good constructive criticism. After 1 1/2 hours of talking about it, I realize I have a lot to improve on. I'm not discouraged though. I just have to practice. Anyways, now I'm not too intimidated with the process. It is all so exciting.
On Friday I took the girls and a friend and her girls down to the zoo. The weather here has been absolutely perfect at a steady 80 degrees. We've been outside enjoying it. This weekend has been relaxing and we haven't accomplished much. I'm taking a break after all the work I put in to my speaking thing. I'm still fighting these allergies, but I think they're starting to get a bit better. Here's hoping anyways.
I forgot to mention, but you'll see it in the pictures that Kelby got a frog costume from my mom for Halloween, but wants to wear it all day already. Tegan loves to wear her Piglet outfit too, but I haven't captured a picture of it yet. These girls are so silly. I also forgot to mention that Tegan has gotten two bee stings in her little foot this week. She's just not very lucky, but she's a trooper about it. She gets over it pretty quick. Also, I am feeling great with the pregnancy. I hardly remember I'm pregnant at all!
I hope that everyone is doing great out there and enjoying their summer as much as we are. Love to you all!
