Spring!

Well, look at this empty webpage. I haven't written all month. I've been so busy...but having fun! Latest things first. I drove 2 1/4 hours down to Puyallup Washington yesterday to buy a tent trailer! Mike had to work, so I was on my own if I was going to do it. I've never towed anything before, so I called my sister-in-law, Heather, to see if she could come with me. She did, which made the drive more pleasant! Plus she has a tent trailer and towing skills, so she helped me know what to do to drive. If I hadn't been able to, she would have been able to do it. I feel like it was a little crazy, but I'm SO happy with the trailer we got. It is just the right size for the family and the van still pulled it smoothly. It is a 2003 Coleman which is a very good brand. I'm just happy that I don't have to look for one anymore. It was taking too much space in my brain. Now I just have to organize our camping gear in it so we are ready to go!

Last week flew by. I don't think we did anything too spectacular. Kelby now gets to go to "Studio A" at church on Wednesday nights. It is for 3rd-6th graders, so she's a big kid. She seems to really like having something for just her. The girls got their report cards this week. The benchmark for first graders in reading is 20 words per minute. Tegan was tested at 93 words per minute! She is a super reader and enjoys reading too.

Church stuff is keeping me extra busy, but I am still enjoying it. I love the ladies I'm working with. We are starting a monthly meeting for women at our church in April, so we are gearing up towards that.

We had the traditional corn beef and pistachio pudding for dinner on St. Patrick's day. I also made a mashed potato dish that had cabbage, bacon, and onions mixed in. Yummy! I love that holiday because it is so easy, and still fun!

I read a really good book for book club this month. It is called, "The Shack" by William P. Young. I like to read whenever I get the time, which isn't very often these days. If you get a chance to read that book, it might change your perception of God forever. It is a fiction story, so it is really easy and good to read.

So the best part of March was my trip to Arizona! I had sooo much fun. On March 7th early in the morning I flew down to visit my mom. I had to get up at 3:00 am, but that wasn't a problem because when my mom picked me up we went to a spa and relaxed the rest of the day by the pool and got a massage! That was a great experience. Then when we were all done relaxing we got to go to my Gigi and Papa's house to have a yummy dinner. Andrea, Victor, and my nephew Gabe were there and so was my Great Aunt Cindy! That time went too fast and we had to leave to go to where my parents live in Maricopa.

The next day we went to the Biosphere project and went on a tour. It was set up in the 90's as an experiment to see if they could live self-sustained inside the building for 2 years. It is like a giant green house. The part I found interesting is that they really weren't able to do it. Some oxygen had to be infused back into their atmosphere somewhere in the middle. I guess man can't do what God can so easily!

On Saturday my mom and dad and I went to the Renaissance festival. I was expecting a regular park with people dressed up as knights and damsels, but it was a 30 acre ground with permanent structures for the event. There were comedy shows, stunt shows, a "jousting" tournament, yummy food and crazy people all dressed up. Even the visitors to the park were dressed up as anything from bar wenches to bishops and pirates! It was a little busty there with some of those low-cut push up type dresses, so I don't know if I would take the girls. But I would go back dressed as Princess Bride and make Michael come as the "Dread Pirate Roberts"! It was so much fun. I ate a big turkey leg for lunch and had a yummy orange icee treat.

On Sunday we went to the park in my parent's town for a little festival they were having. Mom and Dad know everybody in that town! I couldn't believe it. I got a little sun that day, but I needed it! I came back home and have been missing the sun since. We got a chance to go out to dinner with Gigi and Papa before I had to get to the airport. It was all a whirlwind! I see a little blue sky today though, so I better go out in it! Bye bye for now. I'll post some pictures soon.

Summer 2015

This is how we roll… Summer has been full of studying for me, working for Mike, Kelby, and Tegan, and hanging out for Anika! We have spent ...
