Catching Up

I finally posted a ton of pictures today. October was a busy month! The weather was pretty good for us and the trees and leaves were extra beautiful this year!

On the weekend of October 18 and 19 we went to the pumpkin farm together. The weather was beautiful for it and Mike got some good family photos. Sadly, I can't remember what else we did that weekend. We've been relaxing a bit more, I know that for sure...now that camping season is over.

That started the "Halloween Season". I go back and forth about Halloween. It tends to be a very busy time of year. October is the new December, but without the 2 week break at the end! At least the girls didn't need fancy costumes made this year. I only had to make Kelby's skunk tail and add a white strip to her black cat hood. The girls had 4-5 different Halloween events during the last two weeks of October.

The girl scouts had a party during one meeting. That was the first opportunity to dress up. Kelby just couldn't wait for it! Then the school had a Fall Festival on Friday October 24th. They had tons of games and food. It was a big carnival.

The next day we did a little fun walk on a trail with the beautiful fall leaves. Mike took some great pictures of everybody. We even got a good family photo.

We carved our pumpkins that afternoon. The girls get out the guts and then I cut their pumpkin designs. I follow their drawings to do it.

On Sunday afternoon the girls got to go to the YMCA for a Girl Scout ceremony. It was more swimming than ceremony, so it was great fun for them! They get to do some pretty fun stuff by being in Girl Scouts. Lucky Anika gets to join in all the fun too.

The next week at school had very little learning. They had two regular days, two half days, and no school on Halloween. It was because of teacher conferences that they didn't have school. The girls got to have a party in class on the Thursday.

Teacher conferences went well. Kelby's teacher is really good at keeping Kelby accountable to do her work and stay on task. Sometimes she gets into trouble for not finishing stuff. Mrs. Fox is very nice even while she is strict, so she is a GREAT teacher for Kelby. They are learning multiplication right now which is a challenge for her, but she's getting better with practice.

Tegan is a star student. She already reads past the 2nd grade reading level. The teacher said she is well behaved and is even helpful to other students. We are very proud of both girls because they are doing their best.

Anika still loves preschool and she got to dress up for Halloween one day too. The little ones paraded past the high school secretaries and got candy!

Luckily all the girls candy is almost gone already! That is one other thing that is hard about Halloween. I eat too much of it! I'm so glad it is over.

On Halloween day we got dressed up and visited Mike's grandparents and mom. It was nice that they didn't have school because we had lots of time to visit. Then we went back home and Mike and the girls trick-or-treated our neighborhood for awhile while I gave out candy at our house. We had tons of kids come by.

The next day we had some friends over for games and dinner. We hadn't done that in forever! Wish we could do that more often.

This week just flew by and already we're making our way into November. The elections were on my mind there, but I'm honestly glad that is over. No more lame commercials!

Happy Birthday to my Daddy by the way!

I've been taking lots of pictures this week because normally there are none in November! I don't know why we hardly take any pictures in November. I guess I tend to be busy with prepping for Christmas stuff. I was going to do a photo journaling project called "A Week in the Life", but I dont' know if I'll ever have time to finish it. I just took TONS of pictures every day of this last week. It is supposed to result in a scrapbook. Maybe I'll post a digital version someday.

I'll be busy this month because our ladies' are doing another big Christmas event. It is going to be awesome, but it is also a lot to think about.

I really am looking forward to the Christmas season. It is my favorite time of the year even if there is a lot going on. We create so many wonderful memories in December.

I think this catches everyone up on our lives for now. Finally!

Summer 2015

This is how we roll… Summer has been full of studying for me, working for Mike, Kelby, and Tegan, and hanging out for Anika! We have spent ...
