Welcome 2013

We had an IT Crowd New Years! Mike invited all the guys from work and their families over to play games and ring in the New Year. We had fun playing a variety of fun games..including one called "scum" that involves wearing a crazy hat when you get the worst score!

New Year's Beast

We had a wonderful New year's Day feast of prime rib, twice baked potatoes, and sauted mushrooms. George and Debbie came over to enjoy it with us. I fixed it just perfectly this time! The sad part about New Year's Day is Mike was starting to come down with something. He has been sick since then, poor guy.

I took the girls out for an adventure day for the end of break, but it ended up failing miserably. We went to Bellingham ice skate, but it was closed . I had read the website wrong, Then we almost went to a cheap movie, but the projector broke... poor disappointed girls. We ended up drowning our sorrows with a Cinnabon and spent the afternoon shopping at the mall.

Once over break I ran some errands and stopped for a coffee break... thus the picture of the pretty coffee! That picture make me happy.

Now we are back at school and work and getting into another routine. Hopefully Mike is on the mend.

Anika's Birthday

Anika turned nine on Friday. We had a great day celebrating her and it was awesome that we fit all the fun in on her actual birthday.

We started it all out with a waffle for breakfast on the "You Are Special" plate. Anika never forgets to have me use the special plate.

In the afternoon, a few of her friends came over and we went bowling at the recently reopened local bowling alley. It was great fun, The girls did pretty good, especially for not having bumpers. Anika won with a score of 49.

That evening, the family came over for cookie cake and ice cream. We forced them to watch home videos of a little Anika. Grampa George brought her a refrigerator box which was the highlight since that is all she wanted!

I let her have one friend spend the night and in the end she was satisfied with her mid-holiday birthday. Phew!
