I am sick today, so I am slowed down enough to write a blog update! Life has gone on from the Christmas season and a whole month has passed me by. I haven't taken a lot of pictures this month. I really never do in January unless there is snow, and sadly we haven't gotten any this winter...yet... there is still hope, right?
It sure is a good thing Gramma DeeDee came to visit in January! At least we got a few good pictures while she was here! We really had a lot of fun during her visit. On Saturday, we went ice skating (which made Gramma freeze her Arizona blood) and to the movie "Wreck It Ralph".
The weather played nice on Sunday and we went out to Anacortes for a walk by the water. It was a beautiful, sunny day, but cold outside. We enjoyed our nice 2 mile walk.
Then we celebrated our accomplishment with a stop at our favorite place..."The Donut House”!
Gramma retaught Tegan to crochet and we found some online games we could play with Gramma and Grandpa even when there are in AZ.
We went shopping on Monday because the girls didn't have school. For lunch we ate at Five Guys Burgers & Fries but no one was really impressed with it. The girls would rather have McDonalds!
We also went Retro Bowling! I call it "Retro", but it is the newly re-opened old bowling alley in town. We are so glad they opened it! It was fun for the girls to see how good Gramma is at bowling!
Gramma had to leave early in the morning on Tuesday and then we all had to go back to regular life.
I have been working a lot in the schools. I got to be Tegan's teacher for a half day and a 1st grade teacher for a whole day. I decided I need to make a bag of bonus substitute activities to take with me on those days. On Friday I get to be a 7th grade health teacher! Yikes!
Last week Anika's Girl Scout troop got to go on a field trip to the Food Bank and yesterday she got to go to Pet Smart. My Girl Scout troop has not done as much. I am barely keeping the older girls going, but they seem to still be having fun.
We are little worried about Hercules. He seems to have something wrong with his breathing. He still has a lot of pep in his step, but I think I’ll take him to the vet. This is him cuddling on my lap while I am being sick and lazy! What a pair!
We are now hosting the church Youth Group in our home on Monday nights. They were such a small group to be meeting on Sundays in the big empty community center. This seems to be a little cozier.
I think that is about all that is going on with us. Mike still has extra stress at work, so we are praying that things even out for him soon. Right now he is in Utah.
I love you all and miss you!
