We have been so busy these days. It has been wonderful. I love the long spring days. We have the tulips up here, so when we got back from Arizona, we went out to the tulip fields to get our cute pictures before they cut them down. We try to get pictures every year, but last year's pictures didn't turn out at all. This year we got great ones of Kelby, but Tegan didn't want to cooperate.
The next exciting news is that I am pregnant! Can you believe it? We didn't tell anyone that we were trying, so it came as a bit of a surprise (although Grampa Greg has been pushing for it for a few months now!) We had a hard time deciding because three kids will probably be a lot harder than two, but it will be that much more blessing too. I haven't been feeling sick at all. I think that the baby will be due in early January...phew...at least it is after Christmas.
One weekend I convinced Mike to get a bike so we could go riding together. We are borrowing a trailer that can hook on to a bike to fit both girls. Then, Kelby got really excited about riding bikes and wanted one so badly. I made the mistake of letting her try one out at Costco and then I told her she'd have to wait until her birthday. The next day she woke up and the first thing she said was, "Is it my birthday today?" So, we had to think of another reason to get her a bike. So, we asked her to quit sucking her thumb and it seems to have worked! She had such a hard time trying to fall asleep without her thumb, but her own integrity kept her trying. I don't think that she does it anymore...at least I never see her do it, so that is enough for me.
Tegan turned two on May 8th! I can't believe it. She had a really great day. Family came over for cake and ice cream and I set the cousins to some crafting to keep them busy. It is great having all those cousins the same age! She learned how to stick her two fingers up to show her age. What a sweet, doll baby. I was jotting down some of her favorite things so I could see how she changes from year to year, so I'll share. Her favorite movie is Aristocats; Food is "Choci Chips!"; TV Show - Dora the Explorer and Blue's Clues; Toy - Pooh Security Blanket, a doll house, and her Care Bear.
My Mother's Day was wonderful. I got a wonderful breakfast in bed followed by handmade cards from Mike and each of the girls. Then we went to church and afterward we went down to the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Bellvue. Kelby thought of the idea on her very own. She wanted to get that for me. So, I got to pick out a bear. The girls recorded a sweet message so it says "we love you mommy" when I push on my bear's tummy. The girls had so much fun helping to stuff and brush my bear. It was so very special. After that we headed home to a family get-together at Aunty Heather and Uncle Derek's house. The cousins played until they just couldn't handle it any longer. They were so pooped out that they actually slept in a bit this morning and they never do that! It was a wonderful day. I just love being these girls' mommy so much.
Boy, I had a lot to catch you up on. We are just doing so wonderfully. Even I, pregnant though I am, am doing great. I have a little less brain power to go around and I'm a little more tired, but I'm hangin' in there!
