Fall 2014

Fall starts with the first day of school. My girls are so beautiful!

Luckily the fun didn’t stop when school started. We were able to go on one last camping trip for my birthday weekend. We didn’t make reservations, but we just happened to get a spot because someone made a reservation and didn’t show up on their first night. It was an amazing site right on the edge of Hyalite Reservoir. Happy birthday to me!

That night was very cold and we didn’t sleep great, but it was beautiful in the morning.

We went on a hike that day to find a bunch of waterfalls.

We also just happened to find my best friend from high school, Kerry, who just so happens to share the same birthday with me! How weird is that?

The sad story was that these hike pictures were the last Mike got on his good camera. He thought it was hanging on his next when he let it go, but it wasn’t and fell and rolled into a creek. The water killed. Major Bummer!

With the start of school came the start of Volleyball season. Tegan and her team were so much better this year and fun to watch!

Gramma and Grampa Wright came to visit! They like watching Tegan play volleyball.

Mike and George got to do a bunch of fishing while he was here.

While the girls were in school the grown ups had a great time hiking to Oussel Falls in Big Sky. We had to stop at the Mountain Arts Pottery Shop to get Debbie a birthday present and a yummy pecan bar for me!

I love FRY-days!

We got tickets to a Bobcat game, but the weather was not great! We were bundled up, but still freezing in the rain.

The Western Café. We had heard this was the place to get a good breakfast in Bozeman and they were right!

In early October Mike and went hiking up to Lava Lake. We couldn’t motivate the girls to go. I hope they eventually become hikers.

We walked around the lake and kept seeing fish, but Mike kept breaking his line when he tried to catch them. Once tied on some stronger line, he caught a few! They were big ones.

The next weekend we did a short hike up Middle Cottonwood. Still the girls wouldn’t come!

Then it was pumpkin time of year! This was the first year we didn’t make it to a farm for pictures in the fall. We bought our pumpkins at the store.

Once the snow started falling we had to make the Little House on the Prairie Snow Candy recipe.

You cook molasses into hard candy stage and pour it over snow. Tricky, but fun and tasty.

Time to go sledding and let the dog play in the snow…

We were so disappointed to not make it to Washington for Thanksgiving. We had been planning to go, but a big storm rolled through AND Mike and I were really sick. We made due for Thanksgiving by going ice skating and making our own dinner.

We played a lot of Settlers of Catan over the holiday.

Yummy!

We’ll stop there for fall since December brings all the Christmas fun.

Love this fun family!
