Long Time, No Wright :)

Well, my days have been flying by. I noticed when I sat down to update the website today, that I never uploaded my update from February 18 (so go back and read it now)! Oops. I'm sure you've been wondering where we've been. The girls and Michael had been suffering from a sore throat/cough. I think they are all better now. I never got it.

We went flying kites on Sunday afternoon. It is so much fun to spend time together like that. Kelby even had her own kite to fly. On Sunday night, we had Mike's parents over for dinner to celebrate his birthday. His birthday was on Monday. It was a nice day. He didn't have to work because his boss gives them the day off for their birthday. So, we went to the zoo. It was a beautiful day...especially when we stayed in the sun.

I can't say that much else is going on these days. The girls are ever growing. They are both going through a naughty stage right now. They got away with stuff while they were sick and think they still can. Also, they both need to learn to be nice to each other. It has been a big challenge for me lately. They go through stages which relate to my consistency with them. When I'm inconsistent, they test me more. It's time to get CONSISTENT with them again I guess. :)

Kelby's been really learning her letters well. She's learning the letter and the sound it makes at the same time. If I keep up with it, I think we could start working on reading small words. We've been using flash cards to teach the letters. She doesn't know them all yet, but she's working on it. I don't think we'll be sending her to pre-school next year. Instead, I'll "home-school" her. Pre-school is pretty expensive and according to some people, not very effective in "teaching" them. I think she gets enough social interaction already, so she won't be lacking there either. She is a smart kid and loves to do crafts. Today she used almost a whole tube of glitter to make a card!

Hopefully this weekend will be pretty restful. Next weekend we'll be watching a friend's little boy over night and two weekends from now I get to go to another 24-hour scrapbooking party! I can't wait!

I hope that everyone out there is doing as well as we are. Things are just great these days. I wish I could remember to update more often...because by the time I sit down to write, I can't remember what we've been doing. Oh well...you get the jist of it.

Spider Woman!

Can you believe that I went rock climbing this weekend? We had a wild time. I have two friends with birthdays in February, so we decided to combine their parties and do something crazy! They chose to go rock climbing at this place down in Everett. I had so much fun. We had two instructors there that put us on ropes and let us climb up the walls about 2 or 3 stories. It was great. It was the fact that we were six grown women doing this together that made it so much fun. To my amazement, I was pretty good at it. At least I could go pretty fast up the walls...until my arms gave out from exhaustion after about 2 hours or climbing. Afterwards, we came back to my house for a friendly dinner and some "Dance Revolution" (that's my dancing video game that us girls love to play). I'm glad that we can all still be kids at heart!

Backing up to Friday night (Valentine's Day), we had a party here! Yes, there were 9 kids running around here. We had a bunch of friends leave their kids with us so they could get the night away. It was actually a really great time. After heart-shaped ham and jello for dinner, a little crafting, and Care Bear movies, the night ended as a success. The boys jumped on and played pillow fight with Mike and I tried to entertain some of them with making cards and other crafts. We didn't make the older kids go to bed at all. They just laid around the livingroom floor in sleeping bags and watched movies until their parents came to get them at ten. Maybe we'll even do it again someday.

Sunday was a lazy day for us. I took a long nap because I was so wiped out. The girls have a little bit of some kind of cold, so they have been sleeping more. It seems like something else has gone on lately that I am forgetting. Oh well, right now everything is great. Love to you all, Shawna

Gramma DeeDee Went Home

Wow, it has been a while since I updated. I wish that I could get to it more often, but I just keep myself so busy. My mom and dad got to visit this weekend! We had a really good time. Mom flew in on Thursday morning and then we went to this really cool store called Ikea. It has furniture and everything else you can imagine. Kelby loved the ball room they have to play in. She cried when I had to pick her up because she didn't want to leave.

My dad got to fly in on Thursday night because he was supposed to be flying from Spokane to Billings, but they messed up his flight and he talked them into flying out here until Sunday! That was a cool chance to see him. The girls love to see Grampa. They make him be their horse and play with them. On Friday we went to Chuck E. Cheese. The girls had a great time. When it was time to buy something with their tickets, Kelby said, "I want that tooty pillow!" It was a woopee cushion. It cracked us up when she got it and tried with all her might to make that thing toot by jumping up in the air and falling full force on the ground, missing the pillow. The funny thing is that she kept doing it over and over again right in the middle of the restaurant floor. Those toys made them happy for hours!

On Saturday, my mom and I got to go out for the afternoon while my dad watched the girls. I think the girls had fun with Grampa. My mom and I did. I got to go to a cool scrapbooking thing at the store in Bellingham and also we did a little shopping at the mall and went out to lunch. Mike was helping his brother Zach move to their new house. Their new house is really big and comfortable. I'm so excited for them.

On Sunday we went to cousin Emma's birthday party. Four years old already. A piƱata, pizza, cake, and yummy ice cream kept us busy for the afternoon. I'll be taking Emma down to Bellvue for her birthday present. There is a "Build-A-Bear Workshop" there where she'll be able to build her own teddy bear. I can't wait.

Mom and I just kept pretty busy the next to days...well, maybe we were a little lazy. I did get her to stamp some cards with me! That was really fun. Now I guess I'll have to get back to real life again.

Before all these festivities, I can't really remember what we were up to. I'll get some pictures up soon. It always takes me a while to get the pictures downloaded and prepared for the website. Thanks for checking in on us.
