I'm Sorry!

Well, with the third baby, I do have more pictures, but not enough time! I haven't been able to sit down to work on this website because it seems there are so many other things to do that are more important. Anyways, I trust you all understand that. We are doing okay. I am a little overwhelmed with Anika sometimes. She cries a lot more than I remember with the other girls. She seems to eat pretty well, but she is very little. Her doctor is wanting me to watch her carefully. Today she was great. She stayed happy for almost a whole hour at a time...but the funny thing is that she is coming down with a cold. Kelby and I have been sick with a cold for the last four or five days. Tegan and Mike haven't gotten it, so hopefully they won't.

The only really exciting things we seem to have done lately are go rollerskating on Valentine's Day and celebrate Michael's birthday. Oh wait...we got to go see that new movie "The Passion of Christ"! It was amazing.

Kelby had scans on Feb. 20th. That was a long day. Mike, Anika, Kelby and I went down to Children's Hospital. They work things a lot different than Group Health Hospital did. She had to get an IV put in first thing, but she was prepared for it and said she would be really brave. When she came out afterwards she said, "I was brave, but I still cried." I was so proud of her. After that we waited around for 2 hours before she got to go in to get her scans. They put her under anethesia instead of just sedating her and we didn't get to be with her during the scans. They gave us a pager and sent us away until she was ready to wake up two hours later. After she woke up we went to an appointment with the Neuroblastoma specialist doctor down there, Julie Park. We weren't looking forward to that meeting, but it went really well. We now know who to contact if anything every does come up with Kelby. We don't get to use our old doctors anymore because we don't have Group Health insurance anymore and they shut down their pediatric oncology unit anyways. She did want us to have scans in another 6 months at first, but we brought up our concerns with that and she was very understanding. Kelby will have to go down and get her heart and hearing tested and labs drawn later this year, but we won't have to get scans unless something else starts to worry us or her doctor. That is nice because it is such an ordeal to put her through. All that to say, the doctor said her scans look great! We are so excited. We figured that everything was fine, but it was nice to hear it for sure.

Tegan and Kelby are doing great in general. They are either each other's best friends or worst enemies...but they keep each other lives interesting...and mine! I'm looking forward to the better weather so we can get outside a little more. It seems like Anika is always sleeping though so I don't get out much. I haven't found that balance yet. Being a mom is hard work! Thank you Mom for all you did for us as kids. I never appreciated it until I had my own! Anyways, I need to work on getting more naps for awhile and I'll be okay. I think it is always the first three months that are the hardest with a new baby.
