Hard to Sit Down to Write

It has been so hard for me to sit down and use the computer these days. I hate that I haven't written in so long. I have discovered about myself just the other day that I really have bad long term memory. I just can't remember very many details about things like other people can...even about the girls. Discovering that made me really want to do better at keeping up on the website because that is were I can "backup" my mental hard drive!

I haven't written for about two weeks or more, but I can't remember even that amount of time. What have we been up to? Well, let's just get right to the bad stuff. Kelby has been sick with a fever and more for the last 12 days. We still aren't sure what is going on. It started a long time ago when she screamed because her ear hurt. The next day she had an earache and a fever, so I took her in to the doctor expecting that she had an ear infection. They looked at her, but said that nothing was wrong with her ear. Then for the next six days she would have a low temp every day and every evening it would spike up and she would complain about her ear. Then after a week of that I decided to take her back in and that morning she woke up with a cough and sores in her mouth. The cough made sense since Tegan also got sick that week with a fever for one day and a bad cough. So, Kelby got that too. The doctor thinks the mouth sores may have been the herpes virus. The ear looked fine at that visit too. So, she's been on high watch while we try to figure this out. The other two sicknesses really gave us a hard time until she finally got over the sores. The acyclovir she was taking seemed to work wonders on those. So, now she is better with a little cough, but she still has that bothersome fever. Last night she woke up at about midnight with a 104 degree temp and the ear pain. This is just crazy. Today she is better with just 100 degree temp all day. I'm still wondering if her temp is going to be going up this evening too. She's been laying around doing not much of anything all these days because she just doesn't have the energy and she isn't eating much either. The scary part is that the ear pain is on the side of her head the the cancer was before. All that to say...we are a little concerned about her right now. I'm going to start those doctors on figuring this out tomorrow! We are hanging in here, so don't you all get too worried for us. Please just pray for Kelby to get better quick. Each day I keep waking up with the hope that today she'll be back to normal and it hasn't happened yet...maybe tomorrow.

Okay...the good news is...well we haven't been up to much as you can tell. I got my hair highlighted by my friends yesterday, so that was great fun. I'll have to put a picture up. I went to my first doctor appointments for the new baby. I got to see the baby and it's heart beat already! Kelby is so excited about the baby. She loves the pictures that I brought home of the baby growing inside a tummy. Tegan doesn't get it yet, but she will when my tummy starts growing I think.

We have been riding bikes sometimes as a family, so that's exercise and something to do together. The girls ride in the trailer. Before Kelby got sick she was riding her bike every day too. We also got to go to a drive-in movie for the first time last weekend! At least, it was mine and the girls' first time. It was so much fun. It was a late night for the girls, but Kelby just crawled in a sleeping bag in the back of the van and slept through both movies. Tegan stayed awake for the first one and was a tired girl the next day! I'm sure we'll go back there a bunch this summer. It was a fun family adventure. I have decided that Tegan will be a little artist. She gets so involved in any art project or coloring she does. Also, she's left handed, so that might help her creativity...like her mommy!

I'll try to keep you updated on how Kelby is doing. Hopefully we'll get it all figured out soon. She is a tough girl. Please pray for her and us. Thank you so much!
