Saturday, December 12
Inspired by popular scrapbooker Ali Edwards, I was going to be scrapbooking every every day of December. It didn’t happen! I had the best of intentions and even the supplies to do it, but there just isn’t enough time in the day to fit it all in.
So, instead, here again is the continued countdown of our December. This is just as good as scrapbooking right?!
I had a great time on Saturday. It was kind of my day. I got to go to a ladies breakfast with Mike’s Grandma. We had a wonderful time. The hall was decorated like a wedding. It was beautiful.
That night I got to go to a party. My friend had a great idea to have an “exchange” party. We all brought things from our closets that we didn’t want anymore as long as it was in good condition. Then we got “credit” for each item we brought and could choose up to that many items to take in return. I went to the party just happy to get rid of a few things, but was surprised I came home with a few new outfits. It was such a great idea!
We woke up Sunday morning to a couple sick kids, so we had to skip church. We did a lot of relaxing. I don’t remember what all we did. I think there was some baking and some crafting. I was trying to finish up a package that I wanted to send to Arizona.
Then the snow came. It had been so cold and when some moisture moved in, it froze. The girls were so excited!
Monday, December 14
On Monday the girls’ school started two hours late because of the snow. The roads were pretty scary. Tegan stayed home for the second half of the day because she was sick.
Tuesday, December 15
On Tuesday Tegan stayed home again. She had a bad cough.
At Girl Scouts we quick finished all ninety of our ornaments for delivering to the retirement home. The ornaments turned out lovely. The girls ate a ton of food, played a game, and practiced our carols before we headed out to visit the residents. The delivery was so much fun. The residents were expecting us and so happy to see us.
Sadly, Tegan didn’t go deliver with us because I was worried about her passing germs.
Wednesday, December 16
My girls all finally went to school. Anika was getting snuffley, but she wasn’t too sick. I got to go over to Debbie’s house to make cinnamon applesauce ornaments. They were so much fun to make and turned out great!
Then I spent the afternoon making birthday party invitations with Anika. Her birthday throws me for a loop every year. She is having a teddy bear tea party. She just loves to make things like these paper dolls with me.
Thursday, December 17
Today Tegan’s class had a special tea party. She got to do this last year too. The parents serve all the kids and they put on a little program for us.
That afternoon and evening just flew by. I just don’t know where all our time is going! We are having a great time!
SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE STILL A BUSY, BUSY GIRL. I HOPE THE GIRLS STAY WELL AT LEAST UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS SO THEY DON'T MISS OUT ON ALL THE FUN. GREAT PICTURES...LUCKY MIKE'S GRAMA...THAT IS SUCH A GREAT PICTURE OF YOU SHAWNA...GORGEOUS:) LOVE YOU, THANKS FOR SHARING ALL THE NEWS. HUGS FROM BOTH OF US.
