I told you...Nonstop fun! We had a short week because we got home from camping on Monday night and left Friday morning to go again! This time we met some friends, but we went back to the same place. I LOVE Leavenworth! I've told Michael that I've always wanted want to live in a tourist town when I grow up and Leavenworth is the top town on my list. Second is Winthrop, WA and third is Red Lodge, MT.
We didn't stay at the same campground this weekend, but we found another that luckily had two great sites right next to each other so our friends could stay right by us. This campground had a trail down to some great spots on the river. Mike caught more fish and the girls played in the water and sand.
We searched for more geocaches and found some fresh peaches. That area east of Leavenworth is known for its orchards.
We had a great time visiting the town for the obligatory ice cream cone and shopping. Then had fun playing on the water back at the campground. We brought our own tube this time and tethered it to the side of the river so the kids could float themselves a short ways without danger.
We went on one wild goose chase for a geocache on Sunday and came back without finding it after 4-wheeling in our minivan! It took us a long while, but at least we saw some other neat views. Our trip home was kind of lousey because the traffic was so bad. Note to selves: don't go to Leavenworth on the weekend of the big fair in Monroe!
Today I took Kelby down to Children's Hospital for four different appointments. They all just pointed out that she is healthy as can be! The Oncology doctor even said that Kelby is the kind of girl that keeps them going. I suppose they need to have that hope when working with kids with cancer!
Just seven days before school starts! Time just flies too fast.
