It was so weird to have Kelby turn 13. I can’t believe she is a teenager!
We let her open presents before Mike went off to work and she just loved everything. We gave her a card that said she got to go pick out a fly rod. Yes, that is what she asked for! Mike was excited to get it for her…and when she gets it, she’ll get to have lots of Daddy/Daughter time with him.
She didn’t let me off the hook for making homemade donuts to celebrate. They were tasty!
To celebrate with the family, we just met everyone over at the skating rink. She had lots of fun there with her cousins.
That day the weather was FINALLY nice, so we waited for Mike to get off work a bit early and drove out to the beach for some sun fun.
For her dinner that night she chose fondue. We fried onions, mushrooms, chicken, and cheese. It was tasty, but greasy. She wanted cheese cake, so we made an easy Jello brand cheese cake!
On Sunday, July 1st, Kelby had a slumber party to celebrate her birthday. I let her invite 7 girls. When they got here I realized that they are all so much bigger now. They overran the house! We didn’t do too much around a theme for her this year because she was in charge of planning the party…but that didn’t stop the girls from having a great time.
She seemed to be very happy with her birthday celebrations. She didn’t even cry! I remember crying on my 13th…probably because I didn’t get what I wanted because I was self-centered and hormonal. She’s doing better than I did so far!
