Arizona
At the end of March we made our way down to Arizona for our Spring Break. Mike had work to do in Utah at the Janicki there, so we made that a stop on the way.
We stayed two nights in Utah and then got to leave the third night and travel down to Moab where we could see Arches National Park.
We caught some amazing views of Dead Horse Point before sundown and got up early to see the sunrise in the park! It was amazingly beautiful scenery.
Then we made our way down to Arizona. We stopped first at my grandparents house.
We had so much fun hanging with everyone by the pool! Grampa warmed it up for us, so it was like a bath tub!!
We even got to decorate some eggs for an Easter egg hunt together with the cousins, Gabriel and Makayla.
After a couple days at Gigi and Papa’s house, we went to stay at my mom and dad’s place in Maricopa. The girls had a blast there too in the pool.
The next day we went out on a hike and to one of our favorite spots, Goldfield, the old ghost town.
On the hike we ran into an actual rattlesnake. Well, not literally “ran” into it…but I saw it on the trail and freaked and backed off…but Mike went on up and got some pictures of it! We had a picnic lunch before the hike.
The girls got to pan for gold.
Gramma DeeDee has the best yogurt place in her town. It was like a frozen yogurt salad bar. You choose your yogurt flavor out of 12 or so flavors, then you pick any kind of toppings you want and just pay by the pound when you are done. It wasn’t a bad deal and was so yummy!
Then we were headed back home again through Utah.
We stopped for the night in Filmore, Utah and woke up to a crazy layer of snow!
Thankfully, the rest of the roads were soon safe and we made it home just in good time for Easter!
